School-age children are more likely to gain weight over the summer because computer and TV time typically increase in summer months.  Here are a few ideas to get away from the screen:

  • Fly a kite
  • Get bubbles and chalk and let your imagination take you away
  • Play catch with a ball
  • Go for a walk – take the dog!
  • Plant a garden
  • Walk to the library
  • Read
  • Invest in an arts and crafts box
